Judgement Day

Judgement Day

Verse 1:
For I have travelled the beaten track,
Followed the trail laid out before me,
Got lost living a youthful dream,
A fool chasing a written story.
The Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées,
New York, Time’s Square, I’ve been and seen,
And for a while I felt content,
But lately my heart rests somewhere else.

Pre-Chorus:
‘Cos without you, there’s just silence,
We’re worlds apart yet you’re all I want to see,
And so, I’ll retrace my steps to the place where we first met,
And the smile upon your face will set me free.

Chorus:
And there’ll be days where we’ll sit and laugh and cry and sing,
May our reign be remembered, long live the queen and king,
And we shall walk together through the storm,
Unbowed, unbroke despite it all.
With you I’ll stay ‘til Judgement Day.

Verse 2:
For I have stayed,
Wasn’t meant to be,
A restless mind set to roam free.
You said there’s so much out there to see,
Your dreams lay there, not here with me.
So, I let you stray from my mind,
Said I’d live my life to a new design,
And for a while I felt content,
But lately my heart rests somewhere else.

Pre-Chorus:

Chorus: (x2)

Once Upon A Time

MALI Judgement Day
Once Upon A Time

Verse 1:
I wish I could give more than I take.
I’m awake,
And ‘til this day
I often wonder how far we meandered
Through troubled waters.
We became out-landers.

Chorus:
And as the evening draws to a close,
Tales tarnished by the smoke,
A castle now in ruins…
Stories,
Once upon a time.

Verse 2:
I wish I could leave you where I left you,
Time apart makes it hard to forget you.
I had to chase the dreams I owned,
I was a seed that had not grown.
And as the days turned into years,
I wonder how far we veered
From the water’s edge to the mountain tops,
To the warmth of the sunlight, to a cold bed at night.

Chorus:

Instrumental:
Once upon a time,
Once upon a time.

Bridge:
Now we’re strangers amongst the dust,
Amongst the dust,
Amongst the dust,
Amongst the dust.

Chorus:

Instrumental:
Once upon a time,
Once upon a time.

Outro:
Now we’re strangers amongst the dust.

The Boy Can Dance

MALI Judgement Day
The Boy Can Dance

Verse 1:

Ahhh,
Upbeat tempo, up the sound.
Beneath our feet the mad vibrations.
The night is young and so are we,
Sunset, sunrise to undulations.
And I watched your feet tap to the beat,
You close your eyes and I can see
Your hips are swaying side to side,
Soul to soul – you’re wild and free.

Chorus:
I know that you can dance,
I know you know it too,
C’mon, show me your moves.
Oh, the boy can dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, (x4)
So, give him a chance,
Yeah.

Verse 2:
The music slows, I catch my breath,
Ahhh,
Are you solo now or pas de deux?
You captivated many eyes,
Is it solitude or last adieu?
A crowded room, a crowded floor
Your body moves, your eyes they glance.
You take my hand and I’ll take your heart,
And so begins our dance romance.

Chorus:

Outro:
‘Cos, I say dance, dance, dance, dance…

Dancing Like Dandelions

MALI Judgement Day
Dancing Like Dandelions

Verse 1:

I can feel the chill in the wind,
And your hands are cold to touch.
We surrender to the wind,
But now it’s tearing us apart.
Lay down your sword, the battles been fought – and no one has won.
Lay down your shield and let me in so we can talk.
We’re going nowhere, we’re going nowhere,
Dancing aimlessly, dancing aimlessly.

Pre-Chorus:
Oh, we are wasting away, wasting away,
Caught in a daze, caught in a daze,
We are dancing like dandelions carried by the wind.
Oh, we are wasting our time, wasting our time,
Waiting for the wind to fade away.
Held in suspense, in a notion that we can keep dancing like dandelions,

Chorus:
In the wind,(x4)
We are, we are,
We are dancing like dandelions in the wind.

Verse 2:
Oh, we floated on thin air,
Dancing hand in hand we didn’t have a care,
But life, slowly started creeping in
And reality, it hit like a hurricane.
We’re spinning round and round letting our love just dissipate,
And every time we turn on each other we become further away.
We’re going nowhere, we’re going nowhere,
Dancing aimlessly, dancing aimlessly.

Pre-chorus:

Chorus:

Outro:
In the wind, in the wind, in the wind, in the wind.

Upon the Morn

MALI Judgement Day
Upon the Morn

Verse 1:

The ghostly sky, the waves that crash the shore,
Dark silhouettes that play upon my dreams,
But in my mind, I found a way,
Through the darkest times I prayed,
Let the light of new born hope dawn the day.

Spoken Word Section 1:
As I stand here right now, and faith rekindles anew,
I stop and I think of what next I should do.
Where once fear had reigned,
Courage springs so intense.
I look at my men, then stare with intent.
“Chaos and pain, they are nothing to you!
Glory awaits for us, the steadfast, the true!”

Chorus:
And the drums they sound
As the arrows flew.
The soldiers charge
With the swords they drew,
Neath the moon, and the eerie cold twilight,
Flames that haunt the night,
Fires burning, banners torn,
Death comes upon the morn.

Spoken Word Section 2:
Death comes upon the morn,
Death comes and how we mourn!

Verse 2:
The rays of sun, the birds that break the day,
Fallen friends that lie in rest eternally.
We speak the old cliché,
“A great victory!” we say,
Our countless, silent dead, the price to pay.

Spoken Word Section 3:
We tell our grand tales, the heroic acts of our brave,
And criticize our foes, their vile deeds so depraved,
It’s all – “We are the good, they are the bad”,
They – always wrong,
We – always right!
But the sunrise this morning, it has shed a new light,
And I see oh so clearly, that for all we condemn,
That emblems and flags are the only way we differ from them.

Chorus:
And the drums they sound
As the arrows flew.
The soldiers charge
With the swords they drew,
Neath the moon, and the eerie cold twilight,
Flames that haunt the night,
Fires burning, banners torn,
Death comes upon the morn.

Outro: (Spoken word)
Emblems and flags, the only way we differ from them. (x3)

Queen of Tarts

MALI Judgement Day
Queen of Tarts

Verse 1:
All my life I’ve longed for something I cannot name,
Collecting pieces of the puzzle, locking them in place.
At times I feel that fortune’s hand has dealt me some bad cards,
Where I’m left picking up the scattered pieces dealt by your hand.

Chorus:
Roll the dice and you play your games,
Who said that love was blind?
You play your cards close to your chest,
Who said that love was blind?
Where’s the King amongst your Jack of Hearts?
Who said that love was blind?

Verse 2:
I blame gravitation for my fall.
Resistance lies in broken shards.
The moment I fell in love with him,
Love was on the cards.
Someone asked me “Why?”,
‘Cos he was he – and I was I!

Chorus:
Roll the dice and you play your games,
Who said that love was blind?
You play your cards close to your chest,
Who said that love was blind?
Where’s the King amongst your Jack of Hearts?
Who said that love was blind?

Verse 3:
How many cards will be dealt
Before you find your heart?
Cos mine was yours,
But the Joker says I’m just the Queen of Tarts, of Tarts.

Chorus:
Roll the dice and you play your games,
Who said that love was blind?
You play your cards close to your chest,
Who said that love was blind?
Where’s the King amongst your Jack of Hearts?
Who said that love was blind?

Where Do We Go from Here

MALI Judgement Day
Where Do We Go from Here

Verse 1:
Even though we’re standing side by side,
I feel like we’re miles and miles apart,
Wondering where it all went wrong.
We’re just two strangers in the dark.
How did things turn so quick – from bliss to this?
We tried to stop the tide, but the tide came rushing in.

Chorus:
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)

Verse 2:
I’m constantly sitting on the fence,
Trying to come up with a simple solution
To this complicated mess.
We both are tangled up in chaos.
Do we wait out the storm in hope of better days to come?
Are we just fooling ourselves to think the sun will shine for us?

Chorus:
Cause what is love?
What is love?
What is love
When you’re left stranded here?

Bridge:
And if you have one life to live,
Let’s not be passing ships.
Will you sail away with me? (x2)

Chorus:
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go? (x2)

The Battle (MMA Cork Anthem)

The Battle (MMA Cork Anthem)

Verse 1:

I have travelled far and wide,
Fought a thousand times and I’m still standing, I’m still standing.
I’m a beaten broken soul that bears the weight of many a war,
Many a war.
No man is an island, no man is an island,
There’s a power in numbers.
I stand amongst my clan; I stand amongst my clan,
We divide and conquer.
So, let the horns sound out, let the horns sound out,
Let all know,
The battle’s just begun…

(Fiddle Instrumental)

Verse 2:

We stand where our ancestors have stood before,
Did they fear their fate?
We pray for a dawn,
In this darkest hour, we pray.
I fight for the fallen, for our land,
Mo ghrá, mo ghrá, mo chroí.
To our foe, heed the call of the drowning drums,
The drowning drums.
The battle is over,
The war is just begun…

Whiskey Neat

MALI Judgement Day
Whiskey Neat

Verse 1:

2 am and I just can’t sleep,
Drinking whiskey neat,
Pour myself another drink,
Raise a glass to an empty seat.
Every taste is a tease,
Living in ecstasy,
I don’t even know what day it is…

Chorus:

I just can’t let it go.
Let it go,
I can’t let it go.
Let it go.
I can’t let it go. (x2)

Verse 2:

Late nights and empty bottles,
No dreams of tomorrow.
I call but silence falls,
On yet another morn.
You stumble from the path,
Lost, in a trance.
Every day is the same,
We fight and you take flight.

Background Voice:

2am and I just can’t sleep,
Once again, I’m drinking whiskey neat,
Pour myself another drink,
Raise a glass to an empty seat.

Chorus:

Bridge:

And it’s easier to live like this than to face the reality,
And it’s easier to live like this than to know who the monster is,
When I know that it is me.

And as you wake,
I see the demons that reside,
The dark regrets that haunt the night,
They are harrowing your dreams,
Your mind is breaking at the seams.

But it’s all that I have left,
My mind is otherwise bereft.
To stop would bring me to my knees,
Recovery’s a rough journey.
Through the downpour, through the rain
Through the chaos and the pain,
Through the burning light of dawn,
I carry on despite it all.

Chorus (x3):

Mystic Forest

Mystic Forest
Verse 1:

Stumble my way through this mystic forest,
With every doubt another leaf has  fallen
On the ground- stripped of all their hue,
Like me ‘til I find my way to you

Pre-Chorus

So I run run run away
I run run run away
To find my way
Back to you

1st Part of Chorus:

Run from the darkness deep inside,
Run towards the candle light,
I’ll be there with open arms,
And I will hold you so close you’ll never fall so low
That you lose your soul to the shadows that they throw,

2nd Part of Chorus:

I run run run to you
I run run run to you
I carry the flame for you
In the darkness.

Verse 2:

Close my eyes, can’t find solace in my dreams.
Crumbled chaos, broken at the seams.
Even though I search I cannot see
Beyond the fog that clouds my memory.

Pre- chorus:

1st part Chorus:

2nd part Chorus (x2):

Bridge:

Love brings light to the darkness.
And I’ll be up all night,
Keeping the light burning bright.
Till you find your way back to my arms.

Coming Home for Christmas

Coming Home For Christmas

Have my bags upon my back
Open road beneath my feet
The snow falls gently to the ground
Behold my footprints-on a street

Time stood still as I looked down
Upon the measure of my mark
Another time, Another year
Christmas memories – lights a spark

All around a bustling crowd
Still I stood and was alone
Among the strangers as they jolted
My feet were here – my heart was home

Amidst the noise – a silent night
Frozen in the snows of time
A child was born what lies ahead ?
The easy road or borderline ?
Said goodbye with smiling eyes
Told you all roads lead to Rome
But the snow lies softly on the ground
It’s Christmas – and I’m coming home …….

What have I learnt along the road
Away from all the Irish eyes?
Freedom still exacts a price
It’s not just 3 men that are wise.

Cut the holly from the bough
Decorate the Christmas tree
My hearts at home with you tonight
I think of you- you think of me

Footprints on a foreign shore
Upon a snowy winters eve
Impress upon a roaming soul
And in that moment – I Believe !!!

Far Off Shores

Far Off Shores

Verse 1: I can see you driving in your car,
Staring at the open road ahead,
Looking at the sky above and asking,
“Where do I go next ?”
Then you see a sign – you realise
You’re free to roam, but the road in green and gold,
Is calling you home.

Verse 2: And then you turn around and smile at me,
You say you have to go – “The road is calling me,
But before I go sing me one last song to send me on my way…”

Chorus:
“To far off shores,
Where the horse runs wild and free.
To far off shores,
Where the trees stretch to the sea.
To far off shores,
Where the robin flies to me.
On far off shores,
I’ll wait for ye.”

Verse 3
And as you look behind to say goodbye,
You see the tears within my eyes,
You hold me close and softly say
“I must be on my way.”
And as you turn around I finally see
Just how much you really mean to me,
But your work here is done like the setting sun and its time for you to go.

Chorus:

Instrumental Bridge

Verse 4

Often times I wander down the path,
I know that you have treaded in the past.
I see the shiny sails on the horizon,
I can’t help but think of you.
And as the wind whispers through the trees,
I know that soon again we’ll meet,
For to you I’ll run when my time here is done – but for now, I have to stay.

Chorus:

To lighten the darkness that comes with your lies!!
